THE GREEN MILE

                        THE GREEN MILE
The Green Mile is the best film that I ever seen.
It's a drama film shooted in 1999. Its director is
Frank Darabot. It was turned into a screenplay
from Stephen King's novel in the same name. The
story is told by Paul to Elaine when he is 108 years
old.
John Coffy is a buly and largehearted man. He
is blamed for raping and killing two little girl. So
he is sentenced to execution. Although he has a
terrible image, he has a kind inner world. The
headguard of the prisom Paul Edgecomb asks him
whether  he is really guilty or not , John  says he
has supernatural powers. Because of these powers
he suffers from the pain throughout the world.
After John cures Paul, he believes John and doesn't
want to kill him. Everyone in the prison believe
John but he will be put to death. Percy Wetmore a
sadictic and unpopular guard, who is nephew of the
governor's wife has recently begun working. He
recognizes that the other officers dislike him. He
uses that to demand managing the next execution,
by promising that afterward, he will transfer to an
adminstrative post at a mental hospital. An
agreement is made, but Percy then deliberately
sabotages the execution. Instead of wetting the
sponge used to conduct electricity and make
executions quick and effective, he leaves it dry,
causing the execution to be fearful.

When the John's time comes, Paul asks John
what he should do, if he should open the door and
let John walk away. John tells that there is to much
pain in the world. For his last request on the night
before his execution, John watches a film. When he
is put in the electric chair, he asks Paul not to put
the black hood over his head because he is afraid of
the dark. Paul agrees, shakes his hand and John is
executed. All the officers are crying for John.
As Paul finishes his story, he notes that he
requested a transfer to a youth detention center,
where he spent the remainder of his career. Elaine
questions his statement that he had a fully grown
son at the time and he explains that he was 44 at
the time of John's executionm and he is now 108.
This is apparently  a side effect of John giving part
of himself. Mr. Jingles Del's mouse, is also still
alive.
